1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using CleverSlip ("the Service"), operated at cleverslip.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CleverSlip is a cloud-based platform that helps small and medium-sized enterprises manage payroll, generate payslips, and related business documents. We provide a web application, REST API, and employee self-service portal.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service
  • You may sign in using email/password or third-party providers (e.g. Google). Use of third-party sign-in is subject to that provider's terms

4. Subscriptions and Payments

  • The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers (Starter, Pro, Business)
  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe
  • You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent data
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Exceed API rate limits or abuse programmatic access
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission

6. Your Data

  • You retain ownership of all data you upload to the Service
  • You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you provide, including employee information
  • You grant us a limited licence to process your data solely to provide the Service
  • We handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

7. API Access

  • API access is available on the Business plan
  • API keys are confidential — do not share them or expose them in client-side code
  • We may revoke API access if you violate rate limits or these terms
  • API usage is subject to a rate limit of 120 requests per minute per key

8. Availability and Support

  • We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
  • We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CleverSlip and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times. CleverSlip is a payslip generation tool — it is not a substitute for professional accounting, tax, or legal advice.

11. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days
  • Sections regarding liability, disclaimers, and governing law survive termination

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal proceedings.
